    Dr Richard Kojan, President of ALIMA

    Dr Kojan is an anesthetist specialized in humanitarian medical aid with over ten years of international experience. He began working for ALIMA in 2010 on a surgery project responding to the earthquake in Haiti. He went on to become medical coordinator at ALIMA’s headquarters in Dakar for four years before being elected President of the Board of Directors in 2015. Dr Kojan is from the Democratic Republic of Congo.

    Augustin Augier, Secretary General

    Augustin Augier worked in the private and public sectors in France before joining Médecins Sans Frontières in the field in Angola, Sudan and the Democratic Republic of Congo as administrator then field coordinator and head of mission. He was ALIMA’s Director General from 2009 to 2013. In 2014, he was elected secretary general of the Board of Directors.

    Matthew Cleary, Director General

    Trained as an emergency nurse, Matthew Cleary began working in humanitarian care in 2004 as a field coordinator. He works on numerous missions, including in Niger, Somalia, and Sudan. Before joining ALIMA in 2016, Matthew was managing director of an Australian organization that provided psycho-social support to drug addicts, the homeless and people with disabilities.

    Dr Moumouni Kinda, Program Manager

    Dr Kinda graduated from the University of Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, and directs ALIMA’s programs in Chad, the DRC, Cameroon and Niger. He joined the organization in 2012 and has overseen medical interventions in Mali, Cameroon, Senegal and Burkina Faso, where he was also ALIMA’s country representative. Before joining ALIMA, Dr Kinda oversaw MSF medical operations in Haiti, Chad and the DRC.

    Vincent Mendiboure, Program Manager

    Vincent Mendiboure has been overseeing ALIMA’s programs in Burkina Faso, Mali and the Central African Republic since 2015. He has over ten years’ experience coordinating humanitarian projects, especially in Pakistan, Nigeria, Uganda and Ivory Coast.

    Dr Susan Shepherd, Medical Specialist

    Dr Shepherd is a pediatrician with over 10 years of experience in child malnutrition, and has been working with ALIMA since 2013 on the development of new strategies for managing childhood malnourishment. She previously worked with the World Food Program and Médecins Sans Frontières in a number of sub-Sarahan countries.

    Dr Gbané Mahama, Emergency Desk Medical Manager

    Dr Mahama oversees support for ALIMA’s emergency operations. He holds a medical degree and a Masters in Public Health. He has managed emergency missions in Mauritania, Afghanistan and South Sudan.

    Solenne Barbe, Research program manager

    Solenne Barbe has been coordinating ALIMA’s research programs since 2016. She has extensive experience of emergency care and has coordinated missions in Haiti, the DRC, CAR, and Guinea, where she conducted a therapeutic trial with favipiravir, an antiviral medication to find a new treatment against the Ebola virus disease, in collaboration with INSERM, the French National Institute of Health and Medical Research.
